New Steering By Starlight Workshop Starting Soon!

I am offering another "Steering By Starlight" workshop that will begin on Aug. 4 or Aug. 5. There will be two locations..one in Parker and one at the office in Littleton. Some of the members have made some very dramatic changes in their lives and are pursuing their passions...steering towards their North Star! I hope that you can make it to one of the classes.

I am also in the final stages of preparing a workshop based on Pam Slim's book, "Escape From Cublicle Nation....From Corporate Prisoner to Thriving Entrepreneur". I think this is a fabulous book and it addresses a subject that many of us are all too aware of...large corporations have experienced tremendous change over the last few years and basically the corporate way of doing things just isn't working! Some of us are stuck in industries that avoid change and, in fact, actually fight it. There really is no such thing as a "safe" place to be at this particular time in history. Corporations can no longer offer the promise of lifetime employment. We know full well that the axe could fall at any time (perhaps it already has) but it doesn't make it any easier when it happens to you or someone you love. Getting laid off is more than a career crisis. It is a life crisis and finding your way through the wreckage just might bring you to the place you've always wanted to be...following your true destiny.

Steering By Starlight Workshop - First Meeting/Recipe

Steering By Starlight Workshop...We had our first meeting last night and I am so excited about this workshop! We have a great group of women and this is just the beginning of our journey together. We all agreed that there is a certain type of symmetry or serendipity in our midst. More about the workshop later.

I would like to invite questions or comments as we go through this process of finding our "North Star"...Also, please feel free to call me whenever you feel the need or would like to talk....You know, since I've named my blog site "Mel's Diner", how about a recipe or two? I have to admit I'm a better life coach than I am a cook but I do love food...especially food for thought! Melanie

What Love Requires

Hello and I sure hope I'm doing this right! This is Melanie...as in the Melanie that has posted this blog and is facilitating the "Steering By Starlight" workshop. I am looking forward to tomorrow's workshop and meeting with each of you. I know we will have a great time and learn some important information.

This has been two of the most poignant and crazy weeks of my life. My oldest son and his wife had their second child on April 1. They have a 2 year old son and now have a sweet little girl to add to the family. I have two sons, my sister has three sons and I am so delighted to have another "woman" in the family! I know I will have to get in touch with my "girlie" side again and will probably be broke by the time she's 3.

However, as things sometimes happen, my daughter-in-law has had some difficult times since the birth of "Kadie". She ended up in the hospital 5 days after Kadie's birth and is still there. My son spends the days and nights at the hospital with his wife and with the baby. My 2 year old grandson gets to spend time with his grandmothers and visits Mom and little sister every day. It has brought out the best in our families and hopefully will be over soon.

Sometimes there are silver threads in those clouds and when we look back we will remember how these events have brought us all closer. Love requires us to be the greatest person we are capable of being.
